Weekend strikes by LNER train drivers called off

Train driver strikes at London North Eastern Railway (LNER) have been known as off following last-ditch talks between union and firm officers.

Some 450 drivers on the firm had deliberate stroll out each weekend till mid-November.

Aslef mentioned this was resulting from a “breakdown in industrial relations and agreements”.

However, on Thursday, Aslef advised the BBC a “decision” had been reached and confirmed drivers would “now report for responsibility as regular”.

LNER, which operates companies on the East Coast Mainline, had already decreased its companies on Saturday upfront strikes beginning.
