Sindh declares August 20 as public holiday

KARACHI: Sindh will noticed a public vacation on August 20 (Tuesday) to mark the urs of Sufi poet Shah Abdul Latif Bhitai, the provincial authorities notified on Friday. 

A notification issued by the federal government state that each one workplaces, instructional establishments, autonomous and semi-autonomous our bodies, companies and native councils falling underneath the Sindh authorities will stay closed on 14th Safar, which falls on August 20.

However, important companies can be exempted from the notification and stay energetic all through the province.

The urs begins yearly on the 14th Safar (the second month of the Hijra calendar) and lasts for 3 days. As per the experiences, the three-day ceremony of the urs will start with poetry marathons, literature conferences, and different actions.
