Monsoon spell predicted, flood alert issued

The Punjab Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has issued an alert for extra monsoon rains throughout the province.

The new spell of monsoon rains is anticipated to start on Sunday and proceed until August 29.

The rains are anticipated in Lahore, Gujranwala, Rawalpindi, Sargodha, Multan, Dera Ghazi Khan, Bahawalpur, Faisalabad, Sahiwal and Gujrat divisions. Dera Ghazi Khan, Multan and Bahawalpur divisions are prone to flash flooding as a consequence of heavy rains.
