K-P wants revival of tourism hit hard by Covid



PESHAWAR:

In an effort to spice up the tourism sector, which has been hit onerous by the novel coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic, the provincial chief government has directed for expediting efforts for opening the newly established provincial tourism authority.

Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (Ok-P) Chief Minister Mahmood Khan issued these orders whereas presiding over the twenty second board assembly of the Board of Directors of the Tourism Corporation of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (TCK-P).

CM Mahmood directed to finalise formalities for opening the newly established Ok-P Cultural Tourism Authority instantly.

The chief minister additionally ordered to take steps for liquidation of TCK-P and handing over its property and liabilities to the tradition and tourism authority. The TCK-P workers can be absorbed within the authority, he added.

The chief minister termed tourism as a serious financial sector and stated its promotion is a prime precedence of his authorities.

The assembly was briefed on the progress up to now made on the liquidation of the TCK-P after the institution of the Culture and Tourism Authority as supplied within the Ok-P Culture and Tourism Act, 2019.

The assembly determined to represent a committee headed by Ok-P Additional Chief Secretary Shakil Qadir to streamline and expedite all of the authorized, administrative and monetary issues with regard to the liquidation of the TCK-P in a prescribed method.

The committee would draft and current its suggestions to the competent discussion board inside per week. Other members of the committee would finance secretary, regulation secretary, tourism secretary and institution secretary.

Ok-P Chief Secretary Dr Kazim Niaz, Additional Chief Secretary Shakil Qadir, Finance Secretary Atif Rehman, Tourism Secretary Khushal Khan and TCK-P Managing Director Junaid Khan, non-public sector members of the board and different related officers attended the assembly.
