Google partners with Tech Valley to launch digital journalism programme in Pakistan


Google has introduced a brand new initiative designed to boost the digital journalism expertise of Pakistani reporters, launching a program known as ‘Digital Sahafat’ in collaboration with the native social enterprise Tech Valley. 

This initiative, which falls beneath the broader Google News Initiative (GNI), goals to empower 1,000 journalists throughout Pakistan with the required instruments, coaching, and sources to create correct and compelling digital tales.

The GNI, recognized for its world efforts to fight misinformation and foster innovation throughout the information business, is bringing this programme to Islamabad on September 4. 

The launch occasion will function audio system together with Kate Beddoe, Managing Director of APAC News Partnerships at Google, and representatives from Tech Valley.

Google’s partnership with Tech Valley is a part of its ongoing dedication to help journalism globally. The GNI has been lively since 2018, collaborating with hundreds of reports organisations in over 100 international locations. 

Through varied instruments, programmes, and workshops, the GNI goals to assist publishers worldwide improve their readership and income as they adapt to the evolving media panorama.

Tech Valley, based in 2015, works to attach Pakistan’s private and non-private sectors, specializing in the intersection of academia, business, and authorities by way of the promotion of expertise and innovation.
