FIA arrests Orya Maqbool Jan, case lodged for ‘remarks against institutions’


LAHORE: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has arrested famend political commentator Orya Maqbool Jan from his residence in Phase Six of Lahore’s Defence Housing Authority, sources instructed Geo News on Thursday.

The sources added that the analyst has been arrested by the FIA’s Cyber Crime Wing for allegedly spreading spiritual hatred.

Meanwhile, a case has been lodged underneath the Cyber Terrorism Act for alleged statements in opposition to establishments.

It is to be famous that Jan, who actively indulges in present affairs-related political commentary on social media, has 1.3 million and 1.05 million followers on his X account and YouTube channel, respectively.
