The Punjab Police have rescued a cop from a gang of infamous Katcha (riverine space) dacoits of Machka in District Rahim Yar Khan, a police spokesperson mentioned on Sunday.

On Thursday, a bunch of Katcha bandits blew up two police automobiles with a rocket in Machka, martyring 12 cops and wounding six others.

Constable Ahmed Nawaz was kidnapped by robbers closely armed with refined fashionable weaponry after the assault on police cell.

In an announcement, Rizwan Omar Gondal, District Police Officer (DPO) Rahim Yar Khan, mentioned that the police division was working with full power within the riverine areas.

Constable Nawaz was reportedly launched in change for dacoit Jabbar Lolai, who had been in police custody, in keeping with sources cited by Geo News. However, the police have neither confirmed nor denied this change.

A video circulating on social media confirmed Katcha bandits celebrating with gunfire following the discharge of their confederate.

After Nawaz’s launch, Punjab Police Inspector General (IG) Dr Usman Anwar met with the constable’s household to tell them of his secure return.

Dr Anwar said that each member of the Punjab Police was essential to the pressure, and Nawaz’s restoration was a prime precedence for his division. He additionally emphasised that the Punjab Police had been ready to deal firmly with terrorists, assailants, and criminals.

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz appreciated the police on a profitable operation in Katcha to securely recuperate the kidnapped constable.

She praised DPO Gondal and his group, saying they’d completed a commendable job. She expressed her finest needs for Constable Nawaz and his household, and mentioned: “We thank Allah Almighty for his secure restoration.”
