Pakistan’s first low-carbon ESaaS project launched


Pakistan witnessed the launch of its first low-carbon Energy Storage as a Service (ESaaS) challenge on Sunday. The challenge is predicted to chop the telecom sector’s carbon footprint by 58.3 kT — equal to planting practically 2 million bushes — demonstrating how enterprise innovation can align with environmental stewardship. 

Organised by the Brillanz Group in partnership with Telenor Pakistan, Bank of Punjab, and Saudi-Pak Investment Company, and supported by Ministry of Climate Change, the occasion underscored the nation’s dedication to environmental sustainability and technological development within the Telecom sector.

Fahd Haroon, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Digital Media, counseled the ESaaS challenge as a major leap ahead in each environmental sustainability and monetary innovation. He underscored the important position of digital platforms in amplifying this success to draw overseas funding and place Pakistan as a pacesetter in resilient enterprise practices.

Romina Khurshid Alam, coordinator to prime minister and minister-in-charge on Climate Change and Environmental Coordination, hailed the challenge as an exemplary mannequin of how expertise and innovation can drive significant local weather motion, emphasising its alignment with Pakistan’s broader local weather targets and its potential to reinforce the nation’s environmental capabilities
