New stories in latest weeks have steered that Ukrainian operatives might have been behind the September 2022 assault within the Baltic Sea, which ruptured a number of strands of the controversial Russia-to-Germany fuel pipeline.
Pavel, a key ally of Ukraine in its struggle in opposition to Russian President Vladimir Putin’s invading forces, wasn’t notably bothered if Kyiv did blow up the pipeline.
“When an armed battle is waged, it’s waged not solely in opposition to navy goals, but additionally in opposition to goals of a strategic nature. And pipelines are a strategic purpose,” Pavel stated Wednesday on the PoliTalk podcast.
Underlining that he had no “incriminating clear info that it was actually Ukraine who was behind the assault,” the Czech president theorized that “if the assault was aimed toward chopping off fuel and oil provides to Europe and cash [flowing] again to Russia, then — and I’m intentionally utilizing a conditional verb — that may be a legit purpose.”
“But I haven’t got that info,” he added.
