Moment drug smugglers jump off boat containing £39m of cocaine


Video launched by the National Crime Agency reveals two males leaping off a ship containing tens of millions of kilos value of of cocaine, whereas being pursed by UK Border Force.

The inflatable boat was ultimately intercepted off the coast of Suffolk, after it didn’t cease and a person jumped overboard.

Bruce Knowles, 55, of Dereham, Norfolk, and Ferhat Gumrukguoglu, 31, from the Netherlands, each appeared at Ipswich Crown Court.

They had been charged with medication offences after the NCA seized cocaine value £39m from the boat on 24 June.

The defendants admitted to fraudulent evasion of a prohibition in relation to 350kg of cocaine, and Judge Emma Peters stated they’d each face a “important sentence”.
